Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has won his first trophy with Montreal Impact following their 1-0 win over Toronto in the Canadian Championship final.
The loan goal of the match was scored by Romell Quioto in the 72nd minute and Montreal successfully defend its title and earn a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League.
The win earned the team a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League, US$75,000, and bragging rights with Wanyama managing to play in the entire game.

Montreal reached the final by dispatching HFX Wanderers FC 3-1 and Forge in a marathon 8-7 penalty shootout that saw the goalkeepers decide the match, which finished tied 0-0 after regulation time. Toronto beat York United FC 4-0 and Pacific FC 2-1.

Montreal has won the title five times since 2008, compared to seven for Toronto.
