Cristiano Ronaldo on course to repeat Champions League history

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo is on course to repeating Champions League history following his goal on Tuesday night.

The Portuguese scored the opener as Man United won 2-0 away to Villarreal, which also booked their place in the knockout phase.

Ronaldo became the only player to score in every Champions League Group Stage match back in 2017/18 when he scored nine Real Madrid goals across the six matches.

He has so far scored in every match of the Champions League this season, meaning he could accomplish the same if he finds the target against Young Boys on December 8.

He could however be joined by Robert Lewandowski and Sebastien Haller if they both score in their teams' respective fixtures.

The Pole has scored nine goals in five games, while Haller has seven in four for Ajax.
