📅 Club World Cup dates announced

UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea will soon learn whom they will face in the Club World Cup. 

The draw of the competition is set to be done on Monday evening, and here is what we know ahead of the big moment. 

When is the Club World Cup?

FIFA announced on Monday morning that the competition takes place between 3 and 12 February 2022.

Which teams will be in action?

Six winners of each confederation's continental cup will compete, joined by the UAE League champions. 

The six teams currently confirmed to be participating are:

  • Chelsea – UEFA Champions League winners
  • Al Hilal – AFC Champions League winners
  • Al Ahly – CAF Champions League winners
  • Monterrey – CONCACAF Champions League winners
  • Auckland City – OFC representatives
  • Al Jazira Club – UAE Pro League winners
  • Palmeiras - CONMEBOL league winners 

Chelsea will be representing Europe for the second time, having done so following their 2012 triumph. 

They lost to Corinthians 1-0 in the finals.
