FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi has been released from hospital after being taken in following their defeat to Real Betis on Saturday.
Gavi was hit in the face with the ball and then Hector Bellerin's leg during the 1-0 home defeat by Real Betis with Barcelona confirming that they had taken him to a hospital center following the protocol after the blow he suffered during the game.
The player was visibly dizzy and Xavi and the medical team did not take any risks, subbing him off for Riqui Puig.
"During the Barça v Betis fixture on Saturday at Camp Nou, midfielder Gavi was taken to hospital following protocol after being dazed during the game by a blow to the head. Tests have been carried out satisfactorily and the player has been released from the hospital.
"The Barça player was hit hard on the head by the ball just after the half-hour mark in the game and had to be substituted," Barca said in a statement.
With the loss, Barcelona who are placed seventh with 23 points now trails Real Madrid by 16 points after the La Liga leaders won 2-0 at Real Sociedad.
There is no rest for the Laliga giants as they have a date with Bayern Munich in their next game as they strive to stay afloat in the Champions League with matches against Osasuna, Elche, and Sevilla to follow.
The team is slated to take on Argentine giants Boca Juniors in the winter break but the match is yet to be confirmed.
