Mohammed Salah responds to Barcelona links

Mohammed Salah has responded to reports linking him to a move to FC Barcelona in the summer.

The Egyptian's future at Anfield has been a subject of speculation since last season where he claimed he wasn't ruling out a move to Spain and when the subject was revisited again on Saturday, he said his future wasn't in his hands.

"I said it several times, if the decision is up to me, I want to stay in Liverpool. But the decision is in the hands of the management and they have to solve this issue. There is no problem but we have to reach an agreement on the contract. It’s up to them.

"Your financial value shows how much the club appreciates you and that they are ready to do anything for you to stay, but the decision itself is not based on those financial matters only.

"There are things like the ambition of the team and the coach and what he wants to do with the team and the players he wants. These are all important points when making the decision," Salah said after their game against Wolves.

There have been reports that Salah wants to be one of the highest earners in the Premier League with new Barca boss Xavi Hernandes ready to pounce on this to lure him to Camp Nou.
