Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has been in imperious form for his club and equaled Cristiano Ronaldo's record in their 2-2 draw with Sassuolo over the weekend.
That strike took Vlahovic’s Serie A goals tally in 2021 to 33; the same feat Ronaldo managed while he was plying his trade for Juventus as he racked up more goals in a calendar year than anyone in Serie A had managed since 1960.
Vlahovic will now have one match to better Ronaldo’s record as Fiorentina travel to Hellas Verona on Tuesday night before the Serie A winter break.
The 21-year-old who is a target for Premier League side Arsenal has already found the back of the net 16 times in the league this season.

He has also struck four times in his last four games for Serbia to help his country book their place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Arsenal has been urged to go for the striker as the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains uncertain after he was stripped off of the club's captaincy. Arsenal's other option in attack Alexander Lacazette has refused to sign a new deal and might leave in the summer.
