Is it happening or not? Paris Saint Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe has admitted he is not a fan of the new World Cup proposal.
As Futaa has been reporting over the past year, a certain number of football administrators from around the world have been pushing to make the FIFA World Cup a tournament that plays every two years.
However, it seems that most footballers are not keen on the concept, including Mbappe.
"World Cup, every two years? I can't say if it's right or wrong," Mbappe said at the Global Soccer Awards, as per Goal.
"It's something unique that happens every four years. Playing it every two years would become a normal competition.
The 23-year-old concluded his views by highlighting the sheer number of football games professional players have to play these days...
"We already play 60 games a year. We are happy to play, but when it's too much, it is too much.
"If you want to have quality, you have to allow the players to rest," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Mbappe is now looking ahead to PSG's French Cup battle against Vannes on Sunday.
