This boy is about to fly now. Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has won the golden boot in Belgium in the colours of KRC Genk.
Onuachu scooped the award with a record-breaking 29 goals. Surely he is moving to bigger things next season or even in the current transfer window.
His club Genk revealed that the 27-year-old Nigerian is the club’s third footballer to ever win the prestigious gong.
"After Branko Strupar and Wesley Sonck, Paul Onuachu is the third KRC Genk player to win the Golden Shoe. Our Nigerian striker finished ahead of Club players Noa Lang and Charles De Ketelaere,” Genk said.
"2021 was an incredible year for Paul: he became top scorer, won the Belgian Cup, became vice-champion, and was crowned professional footballer of the year. Now the Golden Shoe is added. A legend, our legend. That needs no further explanation,” the club.
Meanwhile, offers are now expected to pour in from clubs in all top five leagues in Europe.
