Since joining the club from Arsenal before the 2020/21 season, Martnez has been the first-choice goalkeeper.
Martnez was a standout goalkeeper in his first season at Villa Park, and he was part of a defensive unit that tied the club's Premier League record of 15 clean sheets in a season.
In the summer of 2021, he starred for his native Argentina as they won the Copa América.
