There’s nothing like such honesty. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had admitted the challenge is unforgiving as the club tries to sign players this month.
Despite signing six players in the summer transfer window, Arsenal’s huge squad rebuild requires added new faces to walk into the club this month.
The club has been hotly linked with the likes of Arthur Melo and Dusan Vlahovic among seven identified targets, but Arteta has now said things are not going smoothly.
“The market is difficult, it's complicated. New signings? Yes, we are certainly trying. I don't know if we'll be able to do it, but let's see,” Arteta said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
The Spaniard was also asked to give an update on Pierre Emmerick-Aubameyang’s future.
“Aubameyang? I don’t know [if he’ll be back training with the team]. We’ll see,” he added.
Coming up next for Arsenal is a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
