🟥 VAR to the rescue for Brazil as Alisson is sent off TWICE in pulsating draw with Ecuador

Brazil and Ecuador played out a pulsating 1-1 draw in a World Cup qualifier match that saw two red cards and two penalties, all overturned by VAR.

Casemeiro gave Brazil the lead after just six minutes, bundling home from close range, while Félix Torres got the equaliser for the hosts, moving them closer to qualification.

Ecuador goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez was shown a straight red card in the 15th minute for a serious foul on Matheus Cunha.

Things were however evened up five minutes later as Emerson Royal was shown a second yellow card for a clumsy challenge.

Alisson was then shown a straight red card on a high boot, but the referee reversed his decision after a VAR review, booking the Liverpool shot-stopper instead.

Ecuador thought they had scored a second early in the second half after Alisson fumbled, but it was canceled out for offside.

Minutes later, VAR was in use again in the favour of the visitors as it overturned a soft penalty for a Raphinha challenge on Pervis Estupiñán.

Their pressure finally paid as a fine Torres header canceled out the Real Madrid midfielder's opener.

There was more drama late on as Alisson conceded yet another penalty and was shown a red card, only for a VAR review to reverse the decision.

In the end, the clash finished 1-1, putting Brazil boss Tite on track to become the first manager to complete qualification unbeaten.

Brazil are already through to the World Cup, with Ecuador third on the standings.
