Reports: Man City closing in on £100m Erling Haaland transfer

Manchester City are purportedly close to completing a deal to transfer Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad this summer.

The Norway international is anticipated to be at the center of a massive transfer saga at the conclusion of the season, with a reputed £63 million release clause in his Dortmund deal scheduled to become active in the coming months.

Manchester City are one of the frontrunners to recruit Haaland, although Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich are all being connected.

The Daily Mail, however, reports that a deal is now 'in place' for Manchester City to sign Haaland, with the Premier League winners reportedly expecting the 21-year-old to select the Etihad as his next destination.

According to the report, agency fees to Mino Raiola and a signing-on incentive may push the total sum beyond £100 million, and the Man City board is now prepared to sanction a deal.

Haaland - whose father Alf-Inge Haaland also played for Manchester City - has scored 80 goals and provided 21 assists in 79 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
