Odion Ighalo was hauled off after 77 minutes as Granada failed to take advantage of massive home support in a 1-1 draw with Valladolid in the a Spanish La Liga game played on Saturday 20th April 2013.
The under pressure Granada, who are in danger of being relegated, had pleaded for fans to stand behind the side in their fight to avoid the drop. And the fans responded.
Flares and cries of support greeted the Granada players as they arrived outside the ground, whilst inside, it was a cauldron of noise as the game against Real Valladolid got underway.
Right from the off, Granada players offered the intensity that manager Lucas Alcaraz had called for. Torje winning a corner in the first attack and Nolito curling it into the side netting.
The first half ended goalless despite heavy Granada pressure, and a call for penalty that was not heeded. Then in the 59th minute, disaster struck.
Diakhaté had conceded a foul outside the area, then Ebert stepped up to expertly curl the free-kick past Roberto, giving the visitors the lead.
Granada found the equalizer in the 73rd minute when Buonanotte, who was starting to cause the visiting defence trouble found the space, made the cross and El Arabi headed home.
Granada are now 17th with 28 points, just one place and one point from relegation places.
