Juventus break 100 points barrier

Juventus, the Serie ‘A’ Champions for a third straight season completed their set target of going past the 100 points barrier after seeing off Caglairi 3-0 in a season ender played at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday 18 May 2014.

The win, that confirmed they won all 19 home games this season, improved their tally to a record 102 points in 38 games of the 2013/14 season.

Record of 97

The team had already surpassed the record of 97 set by McDonald Mariga’s Inter set back in 2007 after beating Roma 1-0 last Sunday that brought them to within a point of the three digit mark.

Goals in the record setting Sunday win were scored by Fernando Llorente in the 15th minute and Claudio Marchisio five minutes to the break. The first – scored in the ninth minute was off an own goal by Cagliari’s Marco Silvestri.
