FC Minneapolis new coach-player, Ian Sendi focused on both roles
America Premier League side FC Minneapolis recently appointed Ugandan Winger Ian Sendi as their player-manager on a five-and-a-half-year deal taking over from Varney Cole.
The 26-year old relishes the opportunity and says that he is ready to juggle and strike a balance to achieve in both roles.
- When I returned to the United States a few months ago, I was just focused on improving as a player and now that I am a player manager, I have to focus on both, Sendi said.
Sendi has set targets to transform the club into a world class brand with the help of his support staff, players and club management.
- I am honored to have a wonderful team of assistant coaches, technical members, and well-behaved players. Now I must decide on what changes and developments I want to see happen here in Minneapolis and I will be counting on everyone to help me as I do this.
He was in charge as Minneapolis thumped Oromo United FC 5-1 in their first game in the summer season. The next fixture is on May 27th against MN Brooklyn Knights.
