Mathare United midfielder Kevin Kimani is aiming to prolong the club’s 100% start to the season when they take on Ulinzi Stars in a Kenyan Premier League match at the MISC Kasarani on Saturday 22nd December in a 3 PM kick off.
Kimani rejoined The Slum Boys in the current off-season transfer window after leaving back in 2012 and has been on form since resigning from Sofapaka. The Kenyan international has two assists to his name already this season in the wins over Chemelil and Nzoia Sugar.
The former Tusker midfielder noted that he has settled well to life at Mathare United, “The players and coaches have made it easy for me to settle in, the style of play is also familiar so it’s not a very new environment. I also worked a lot on my fitness so when I joined the rest of the team for preseason I was not badly off.
Francis Kimanzi’s charges are yet to concede this season and Kimani is confident of a win and another clean sheet against Ulinzi, “I've got a lot of respect for Ulinzi because they’ll always give you a good game. They are worthy opponents but we have a good team that can pull a big performance.
“We have worked well as a team in the last two matches and I believe if we put our heads down together we can keep another clean sheet and pick maximum points.”
