Haidara targets quick recovery and proving himself

23 Dec 2018, 12:00

Amadou Haidara is targeting getting back to full fitness as soon as possible so that he can get back to work and prove himself in the Bundesliga.

The 20 year old Malian midfielder has penned a five year deal with RB Liezpig making his switch from Austrian Bundesliga champions Redbull Salzburg.

"I am very satisfied that I am now at RB Leipzig and of course I am also looking forward to the Bundesliga. For me, the main thing now is to get fit as quickly as possible. I'm currently on the right path, but I'll need more time to get back to work. Nevertheless, the anticipation and motivation are great to develop myself here in Leipzig together with my team and then soon prove myself in a new league," he said.

His new Coach Ralf Ragnick is full of praise for the young midfielder saying he is an exceptional player who has alot of potential.

"We are very pleased that it has now worked with the commitment of Amadou Haidara. Of course we followed his way in Salzburg, because there he developed to an absolute exceptional player. There are not so many players of his age who have such great potential. He has all the prerequisites to succeed Naby Keita in our midfield. Of course it is a pity that he will be out of action due to his injury, but we hope that the conservative healing process will be successful and he might still be able to help us in the second half of the season," he said.
