Lazio deny signing Nigerian winger rumours
Italian Serie A club Lazio have downplayed media speculation that they have reportedly reached an agreement to Nigerian winger Bobby Adekanye.
Adekanye has however entered into the final six months of his contract with Liverpool and is said to be stalling on his decision with both clubs until he is reassured about his first-team prospects.
It was previously speculated that Adekanye and his agents had been negotiating with Lazio since November 2018 and if it were the case, it would be as good as signing the player.
''In reference to the news released by some media, according to which SS Lazio have found an agreement with the player Bobby Adekanye, the club denies this and announces that it has not signed any contract, nor has it started negotiations for the aforementioned player,'' Lazio wrote on their official website on Monday.
Adekanye, who joined Liverpool in July 2015, includes VV Alphia, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona among his former clubs.
He has made nine appearances for The Reds in the Premier League 2 this term.
