Jackson Magera started his stint with the Uganda National under-17 on a bad note with a 2-0 loss to Burundi Under-20 on Tuesday afternoon.
The international build up friendly match was played at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi.
Cedric Mavugo put the hosts in the lead as early as the fufth minute before Bienvenue Kanakimana summed up the win in the second half.
Both sides were using the match for preparations ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations under-20 and under-17 finals in February and April.
The Uganda Cubs will be playing in the under-17 finals in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania while the Burundians are heading to Niger for the Under-20.
