Keita out with a thigh injury
Inter Milan will have to do without the services of Senegalese winger Keita Balde Diao after the player sustained an injury to his right thigh in training.
In a statement on the club’s portal, the player is confirmed to have undergone an MRI scan on Wednesday and will be reassessed next week.
Inter did not disclose how much action Keita will miss, although reports suggest the former Lazio player will be absent for three weeks.
That would see Keita sit out Serie A fixtures against Sassuolo, Torino, and Bologna, as well as the Coppa Italia tie with Lazio.
Keita, who joined Inter on loan from Monaco in August, has scored four goals in 17 Serie A outings this term.
Keita was born in Spain to Senegalese parents. Although he was eligible to play for Spain, he chose to play for his parents' country, Senegal, being called up by their manager, Aliou Cissé, for the match against Niger for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification Group K. He made his debut for Senegal in a 2-0 win over Niger as a late substitute. He also played a friendly match with the Catalonia national team in December 2015 against Basque Country.
In May 2018, Keita was named in Senegal's 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia
