CAF CC: Mulindwa tickles Vipers’ players to write history
Vipers Sports Club president, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, has challenged the team to make history by qualifying for the CAF Confederations group stages.
The Venoms take on Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien on Sunday in the second leg of their CAF Confederations Cup fixture.
The first leg ended 0-0 in Kitende and the club owner believes they can stun the three-time cup winners and become the second Ugandan team to reach the group stage.
However, Mulindwa shed some pressure off his team’s shoulders by revealing to them that any result they come back with will be welcomed.
“The club administration is proud of your good works irrespective of any result that you will bring from Sfax. Don’t lose hope, just remain focused for further assignments,” he urged the team.
“During the first leg, you displayed a beautiful brand of football which had all the ingredients but goals. It was entertaining, offensive and had everything you could expect from a good team. I urge you to build on that performance going forward.
“Respect the Tunisians because they will be at home but don’t dare fear them, it will be 11 against 11 with neutral referees therefore seize the opportunity to leave an indelible mark in the club history,” he added.
