Lwandamina says Kotoko win was for pride and integrity

18 Mar 2019, 10:00

Zesco United coach, George Lwandamina, has said that the 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup was achieved for for pride and integrity.

With both sides virtually out of the competition before Sunday’s clash, Lwandamina led the Zambians to victory.

“They wanted it more like their coach said but we also needed to win to protect our pride and integrity that’s why we gave them good run for their money,” Lwandamina told the media via Ghana Soccer Net.

“Both sides showed character, it was a cagey match but unfortunately both teams are out of the competition,” he concluded.

Team Ya Ziko will now focus on the Zambian Premier League.
