Paris Saint-Germain blasted over their treatment of Adrien Rabiot
Rabiot has not played since December 11 after refusing to sign a new contract and has been barred from training with the first team.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season with the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Liverpool said to be interested in his services.
"I do not want to cry about it, or to weaken even more Adrien saying he is not good," Veronique said, in an interview with L'Equipe. "We are attacking the human side here. We are modest. I can only tell you that he feels very badly [about] everything that happens.
"Adrien is a prisoner! He is even held hostage by PSG. Soon it will be dry bread, water, and a dungeon! This environment is cruel.
"A footballer exists to play, not to stay on the shelf. Adrien has not played since December, and likely won’t until June."
The midfielder received backlash in France after being spotted in a nightclub after PSG’s dramatic Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester United.
