Antoine Griezmann will join Spanish giants Barcelona this summer according to Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin.
Griezmann announced in May that he will leave the Spanish side this summer after his five-year stay. The Frenchman’s move to Barcelona seemed to have hit the rock after reports emerged that he could be on his way to Paris Saint Germain. As reported by Sky Sports in May, Barcelona was set to pay his £108m release clause after Griezmann publically revealed his desire to leave.
"I am very clear about where he is going to play, it is known since March, at Barcelona,” Mari told Spanish radio station.
Griezmann scored 15 LaLiga goals as Atletico finished second behind Barca in 2018-19, while he netted 21 in all competitions.
