English Premier League giants Manchester United have signed Spanish teenage wonderkid Mateo Mejia from Real Zaragoza for £600,000, according to The Sun.

The 16-year-old is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's second signing of the summer after bringing in young Swansea winger Daniel James.

Mejia's signing is a statement of intent for Solskjaer in recruiting promising youngsters to progress through the club's ranks.

The Norwegian also seems set to seal a big-money move for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The defender could move to Manchester in a deal worth around £55million as the Old Trafford side look to bolster their ranks for the new season.


James' long-anticipated signing is the start of that, with him and eventually, Wan Bissaka set to go straight into the first-team reckoning.

Mejia, on the other hand, will have to impress in the club's youth ranks before earning his first-team opportunity.

The club is looking for a serious revamp to the team after floundering in last season where they finished sixth in the league log. 

Apart from losing Ader Herrera who is said to be on his way to PSG, the club is yet to sort the future of goalkeeper David De Gea and midfielder Paul Pogba who is wanted by Real Madrid.
