Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given his impressions on Bafana Bafana’s inspired win over Egypt at AFCON 2019.
The Portuguese manager was doing analyst work for an international broadcaster when he took in Bafana’s 1-0 upset of Egypt in last weekend’s last 16 game - thanks to a Thembinkosi Lorch finish.
Bafana, to the agreement of many fans, ex-players, and coaches, outplayed Egypt in every area of play where the 1-0 score could have been worse.

“When you are in possession, you cannot keep on passing the ball backwards,” Mourinho said about Egypt via KingFut.com.
“These are not (Javier) Aguirre’s instructions. This only shows the players’ mentality.”
The 56-year-old further added what coach Stuart Baxter’s South Africa got perfectly right to bring down Egypt in front of their 75 000 fans on the night.
“South Africa were patient, disciplined and well-organized. On the other hand, Egypt were really disappointing,” concluded Mourinho.
Bafana next take on Nigeria in the quarter-finals on Wednesday evening.
