Three players who could replace Lukaku at Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku's future at Manchester United is still unclear, with rumors linking him away from the Old Trafford side.

The bulky forward has made it clear that he will not stay at the club after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer informed him that Marcus Rashford would still lead the line next season.

Inter Milan have reportedly started official negotiations with United over the player's signature even though no official communication has been made.

We look at three top players that United can target to replace the former Chelsea and Everton man if in case he departs the club.

1. Mauro Icardi

The Argentine forward is in Inter Milan's books, but should United sign Lukaku, it will make football sense for the club to target the deadly marksman.

News emerged on Sunday evening that the striker had been kicked out of the club's preseason camp, further fueling rumours that he might be on his way out of the club.

Icardi has been sensational for the Italian giants and scored 17 and assisted 5 in 36 appearances for Inter last season, and can be a perfect signing for United.

2. Timo Werner (RB Leipzig and Germany)

Werner has been a revelation for the German side, and at 23, he could grow into one of the best strikers in the world.

His pace and trickery would definitely be a plus, and he can strike a perfect partnership with Marcus Rashford, who Solskjaer highly favors.

3. Wissam Ben Yedder

The French international had a good year for club and country, having scored 30 goals and assisted 11 times in just 54 games for Sevilla.

Yedder has played for seven years now at the highest level and is a prove goalscorer having shone for seasons now.

He has admitted that he would love to play for a 'bigger' club, and this can be an opportunity to fulfill his dream.
