Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been urged to drop his interest in Paul Pogba by club president Florentino Perez according to The Independent.
Madrid is believed to be interested in the Manchester United midfielder although the English giants’ valuation is preventing the Laliga side to make a move with Pogba having expressed interest in joining Zidane in Madrid.
The independent claims that Perez has asked Zidane to bring Gareth Bale back into his first-team plans instead, with Los Blancos struggling to sell the unwanted Wales international.
It is believed the Madrid board are not so fond of the 26-year-old, however, but have reluctantly offered the manager their support.
Pogba’s move could be hampered by the Spanish club's inability to offload their unwanted players with the report claiming that United would not consider a deal for Pogba 'for less than £150m', with Madrid unable to meet the asking price unless they can raise funds.
James Rodriguez is one of those to have been deemed surplus to requirements but the La Liga giants have rejected a loan offer from Napoli.
Madrid has even been unsuccessful in their attempts to sell goalkeeper Keylor Navas who is another player they want to ship out to raise funds for Pogba.
