Young Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has expressed gratitude to Arsenal despite coming nowhere near any English Premier League appearances.
As reported by Futaa on Monday, the 20-year-old Nwakali joined Spain’s lower-division club SD Huesca on a permanent three-year-old deal.
The Nigerian international went online to thank Arsenal for developing him since 2016. "It's been a good journey with Arsenal since 2016 despite never played (sic) any official game for them," Nwakali posted.
The Owerri-born player, whose loan spells included time in the Netherlands with MVV Maastricht, originally hails from the Nigerian Diamond Academy.
"I have gained a lot from my time here and everybody involved with the club have been great to me.”
"I just want to say a big thank you and goodbye, because it is time to move on, time for another chapter and another challenge,” he concluded.
Nwakali will hope to improve on the 16 appearances he made at Porto’s reserve side last season.
