Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to signing a new £180,000-a-week longterm contract, which is set to finally put an end to speculations over his future.
The 18-year-old broke onto the scene last season and became a regular starter under former manager Maurizio Sarri before an Achilles injury ended his campaign during a 2-2 draw against Burnley in a Premier League match in April.
Further reports indicate that the young Englishman has already signed the new contract, with the club set to announce this latest development soon.
Return to action
This will coincide with the youngster's return to action, after sitting out for months due to the Achilles injury.
He is expected to feature for the U23 side in Friday’s PL2 match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge, as he steps up his anticipated return.
The club was desperate to tie him down with a new contract, and they seem to have succeeded in convincing him that his future lies at the club where he grew up.
Bayern's failed bids
He was, reportedly, the subject of four separate failed bids from German giants Bayern Munich in January and was said to be keen on leaving in search of first-team league action.
New manager Frank Lampard indicated he was keen on solving his issue when he was unveiled as manager, noting that the winger is, and will be key for the Blues in future.
Once announced, he will join Mason Mount, who signed a new five-year contract before the start of the current season, with the club said to be keen on giving improved contracts to other youngsters including Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Reece James.
