Manchester United open talks with Pogba over a new deal

English Premier League giants Manchester United have opened negotiations with midfielder Paul Pogba this as reported by The Times.

The news comes at a time when the club is on a spree of tying down players, they think will be beneficial to United in the next few years with defender Victor Lindelof and goalkeeper David de Gea signing new deals last week.

Reports claim too that the club is considering new deals for midfielder Jesse Lingard and young striker Mason Greenwood in the coming weeks; although the former has attracted a lot of criticism from the club’s fans.

The Subject

Pogba was the subject of a transfer over the summer with the player admitting that he wanted a new challenge; Real Madrid having been his potential destination.

The Times reports that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Pogba as a vital part of his plan to make the club title contenders once again and they’re hopeful being the star piece of that jigsaw puzzle will be enough to persuade the player to stay.

Apart from Real Madrid, the France midfielder who is expected to return from injury in the club’s midweek tie in the Carabao Cup, the other team that has been linked with the player is his former club Juventus FC.
