Arsenal set to loan out Mesut Özil

English Premier League side Arsenal is set to loan out midfielder Mesut Özil in the forthcoming January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mirror, manager Unai Emery is willing to let the midfielder leave as he has a proper backup to replace the German.

It is said the Spaniard doesn’t like the midfielder going by the less game time he has been accorded at the club an allegation that the midfielder has repeatedly denied saying he was happy in London and has no desire to go anywhere.

The Mirror claim that, despite being elected as one of the club’s five captains last week, Arsenal would rather ship Ozil out on loan than keep him around to be a bit-part player.

Özil used sparingly so far in 2019/2020

Ozil has made four appearances for Arsenal this season the games coming against Aston Villa, Watford and Tottenham Hotspurs in the league with the other being in the League Cup against Nottingham Forest.

Unai has always preferred captain Xhaka and youngster Guendouzi with Ceballos being the guy to join the midfield and attack.

The midfielder together with Kolasinic had been excluded in the team’s first games of the season after a scare by some attackers but they rejoined the team when the club felt they were safe with the group.
