Nigeria international and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has revealed that he is not bothered by not being called up to the national team ahead of the friendly against Brazil.
The Super Eagles are set to take on Brazil on October 14 and head coach Gernot Rohr has handed call-ups to Katsina United's Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Deportivo de la Coruna's Francis Uzoho and Fortuna Dusseldorf's Maduka Okoye as the keepers for the match.
Despite being oustanding for Chiefs this season and feautring in five games at the Africa Cup of Nations, Akpeyi feels like he will not let the snub get to him and chooses to focus on his club duties.
"I'm not really looking at being motivated to be called for something. I'm just working on myself and working on my career and to get to the peak of my profession," Akpeyi told Sport24.
"If I get a call, fine. I think so far in the national team, I've played my part having been to the World Cup and Nations Cup, and from the junior to the senior.
"So, I believe I've played my part. If whatever I'm doing doesn't impress anybody then it's all about me this time."
