AFC Leopards refute auctioneers claims

AFC Leopards has refuted claims that auctioneers are after their bus due to unpaid dues that were incurred when they failed to pay bills to some hotel that had accommodated them previously.

While admitting that Leopards were not well off financially, club general secretary Oliver Shikuku said they had not reached those extreme levels and that the news that had circulated about the unpaid hotel bills was a thing that happened in 2015.

“There is no auctioneer who is after us or any of our properties. The said unpaid bill is a thing that happened in 2015 and it was sorted. I know we are not doing well financially but that is a thing that we are working on to make right,” Shikuku told Futaa.

In Talks

Shikuku further revealed that they were in talks with a series of organizations with the aim of sponsoring the club after the departure of their main sponsors.

“Of course, the departure of our main sponsors unsettled us financially and we have to look for ways to sustain the team. We are in talks with various organizations. We are in need of another main sponsor and other sponsors to complement the main one so that we can run our operations smoothly,” he added.

Leopards who is currently second on the log will be up against Western Stima in their next league tie.
