Kenyan Premier League is yet to pay giants Gor Mahia their prize money after winning the 2018/19 league title.
Gor Mahia were entitled to Ksh 4M by the virtue of winning the title but according to Gor Mahia treasurer Sally Bolo, the monies have not been wired to the club's account.
"We are yet to receive the money. We have asked KPL about it but they told us to wait since they are going through a difficult period financially. They have not given any timelines when the same will be done and for us its a waiting game," Bolo told Futaa.
Gor Mahia has been just one of the teams that have suffered severely since sponsors Sportpesa pulled out of the game; the same body having sponsored the league and Gor arch rivals AFC Leopards.
The financial bite has hit even other teams in the league with a total of three walkovers already witnessed in the league.
Of the three, Sony Sugar has dished two (against AFC Leopards and last week's walkover against Tusker FC) with the other team being Chemelil Sugar FC who failed to honour their week six game against Bandari FC in Mombasa.
