Chelsea predicted lineup against Ajax

Chelsea will head to Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday night to take on Dutch side Ajax in one of the highlight matches of Champions League night.

The two sides are favourites to advance from the group, and as such, will be keen on avoiding defeat at all costs.

Ajax have won their opening two matches and sit atop the group, with Chelsea third on three points, same as Valencia, who beat them on match-day one.

Ahead of the tie, Lampard has a few injuries to worry about, with N'Golo Kante the notable absentee after he failed to recover in time for the match.

He has however been boosted by the return of Emerson Palmieri, who has missed a couple of matches since the Liverpool clash in September.

How do we expect Chelsea to lineup against a free-scoring Ajax?

At the back, Kepa Arrizabalaga will most definitely take his spot between the posts, and owing to Ajax's attacking game, Lampard might play with two wingbacks.

That will give see a three-man defense of Tomori, Zouma, and Azpilicueta, with Emerson and James playing as wingbacks.

In the middle of the park, Kovacic will play alongside Jorginho, with Tammy Abraham the obvious choice upfront.

To his sides, Lampard has admitted he will have a tough decision to make on whether to bring in Hudson-Odoi or Pulisic, with Willian too to be considered.

He might decide to go with Willian owing to his experience, with the Englishman too getting the nod.

Chelsea predicted starting XI: Kepa; Tomori, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Alonso, James; Jorginho, Kovacic; Hudson-Odoi, Willian, Abraham
