Zambia head coach Bruce Mwape has expressed his disappointment after being held to a 22 draw by Kenya’s Harambee Starlets on Friday.
Mwape while speaking after their Olympic qualifier against Starlets said they played well but had expected to pick a win headed to the reverse fixture.
The coach further stated that they shouldn’t celebrate yet despite having two away goals and believes they still have another tough 90 minutes to put a good display.
“I think we played well today although our aim was to go back home with a win, unfortunately, it came out as a draw. We can’t celebrate because we have another 90 minutes to play and I think we were up against a good side,” Mwape said.
On her part, Starlets captain Dorcas Shikobe added that they know where they had gone wrong in the game and were ready to rectify them in the reverse fixture.
“It wasn’t an easy game but I think the girls have learned where the mistakes were. We are now going to rectify them and hope for a better outing in the second leg,” Shikobe said.
The second leg of the tie is slated for Monday 11 November in Zambia.
