Harambee Starlets jet back, shift focus to CECAFA

Kenya’s Harambee Starlets landed back safely in the country on Tuesday night after going out of the 2020 Olympics Qualifier against Zambia on Monday.

Gallant Starlets were eliminated on a 3-2 aggregate after going down by a solitary goal on Monday (this after a 2-2 draw in the first leg) and will hope that they can banish the sad outing when they take the rest of East Africa in the CECAFA Women Championship that Kicks Off this Saturday.

Kenya has been pooled in group B alongside Uganda, Ethiopia, and Djibouti with Group A comprising of Tanzania, Burundi, Zanzibar, and South Sudan; the latter making their debut in the competition.

Burundi has been the first team to arrive in Tanzania as they are slated to Kick off the completion with a tie against Zanzibar.

Kenya begins her campaign with a tie against Ethiopia on Sunday. Where the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-final stage of the championship.
