Zesco United are looking to start their 2019/20 CAF Champions League, Zesco United, this evening when they take on Angolan giants Primeiro de Agosto of Angola in Luanda.

Zesco United will need a good start to the campaign as they are in a group that includes five-time African champions and next-door neighbors in DR Congo giants TP Mazembe and Egyptian giants Zamalek SC.

The Ndola based outfit reached the group stage after beating Green Mamba from eSwatini 3-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round and Young Africans of Tanzania 3-2 on aggregate in the pre-group stage.

For Agosto, they are facing their second Zambian side this campaign alone having beaten Eagles 2-1 in Lusaka and lost 1-0 in Luanda to advance to this stage on away goals rule following a 2-2 aggregate result.

Zesco will be banking on in-form Jesse Jackson Were to lead the charge for maximum points having already scored ten goals in the league.

Zimbabwean midfielder Thabani Kamusoko, John Ching'andu, Anthony Akumu Agay and Enock Sabamukama will be key in midfield to create chances for Were and Umaru Kasumba upfront.

Zesco United and Agosto will square off at 18:00hrs at the November 11 Stadium in Luanda, also in action are Zesco's matchday two Group A guests on December 7, TP Mazembe of DR Congo who hosts fellow five-time champions Zamalek SC in Lubumbashi.
