Everton 3-1 Chelsea: Cracking Calvert-Lewin hands Ferguson first win

Sir Duncan Ferguson registered his first win as Everton interim boss following a 3-1 victory over visiting Chelsea on Saturday 7th in a Premier League clash staged at Goodison Park.

Everton, who are in the relegation zone at kick-off, produced an impressive performance against Chelsea to pick maximum points. Richarlison got Everton started before Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted twice as Mateo Kovacic scored a consolation goal for the Blues.

Richarlison 5'

Everton took the lead in the fifth minute despite Chelsea's early threats and attacked. The flooded men forward, with Richarlison spreading the play wide to Sidibe and continued his run to meet the right-back's cross and nodded it into the far corner past Kepa.

Calvert-Lewin 49'

Zouma hooked a clearance away, Sigurdsson won the first header, Zouma then tried to control it again on the edge of his own box and Calvert-Lewin nipped the ball off him and slotted it calmly through Kepa's legs. Great finish and Ferguson was in dreamland. He ran down the line, picked up a ball boy, swung him around and punched the air.

Kovacic 52'

Out of nothing, Chelsea had a goal back and what a finish was from Kovacic. Digne cleared Azpilicueta's low cross away to what looked like relative safety, but Kovacic watched it all the way and caught it beautifully on the volley, with a low effort placed to precision into the bottom corner.

Calvert-Lewin 84'

Another HORROR pass from Kepa, not the first he's made today in the game. Walcott picked it up before turning inside Zouma and finds Calvert-Lewin. He backheeled to Davies, who can't get his shot away with Kante sliding inside the box, but the loose ball does roll into Calvert-Lewin's path for him to bundle it in.

Chelsea was being talked of as title contenders a couple of weeks ago. But now they stand 14 points adrift of leaders Liverpool. And if Wolves win tomorrow, Chelsea will finish the weekend just two points ahead of fifth place in the table.
