German champion Bayern Munich is weighing up a move for Real Madrid's versatile defender Achraf Hakimi after the Moroccon impressed during a two-year loan stint with Borussia Dortmund.
Marca in Spain believes that Hakimi's future in Spain is very much up for debate, with Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola currently the right-back options at the Bernabeu which might mean that 21-year-old Hakimi would be third in the pecking order.
However, Hakimi's outstanding displays for Borussia Dortmund in a variety of positions in defence and midfield, and a good relationship with Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, means that the player holds a strong hand of cards.
Now, it's alleged that Bayern Munich is ready to test Real Madrid's resolve with a bid. Hakimi's ability to play on both flanks in defence, as well as in more advance wide midfield roles, make him an attractive proposition for the German giants.
Hakimi's contract in Madrid runs to 2022, meaning his long-term future will have to be decided by the end of next season. If Hakimi makes the switch to Bavaria, he'd join an illustrious list of players to have swapped Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich in the past, namely, Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels.
