πŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸ”΄β˜ΉοΈ Kotoko fan in hospital after shooting at Berekum Chelsea

An Asante Kotoko fan is fighting for his life following the shooting violence in Sunday’s defeat at Berekum Chelsea.

The Kotoko supporter caught a bullet at the gates of the Baba Yara Stadium after police allegedly fired shots at a restless crowd.

“The supporter wearing the jersey of the Kumasi-based club collapsed on the floor after being shot with blood oozing out from his stomach area,” wrote the influential Ghana Soccer Net.

“Other reports claimed that the supporter was shot in the eye after police fired rubber bullets to ward off supporters who were trying to approach referee Charles Bulu following the defeat in Kumasi.”

The incident has thus been followed by an official statement from the club this morning. The club confirms that the fan is in stable condition at a Kumasi hospital.

"The victim of this afternoon's shooting incident at the Baba Yara Stadium is currently stable and responding to treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi," said the statement.

"We are following the development and would be updating our followers."
