Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has sent a warning to his team ahead of their Premier League clash against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Blues will be making their longest trip of the season to the East, aiming to complete a double against the Magpies having beaten them 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Lampard, in his pre-match conference on Friday, said it is not a good time to play Newcastle just because they have injuries, warning that they might come stuck just like they did against Bournemouth.
The manager reckoned lacking key players can bring something out of an opposition side, and they should be wary of the Newcastle.
"Even though we have good away form, in general, every game brings new challenges. Going to Newcastle I know the emotion of the crowd, the very organized team they are, the manager they have, and also the threats they have. They have got some really good results this season. We will be taking nothing lightly
"We have to take this game head-on. It is massively important we keep our focus game in, game out. We certainly can’t underestimate Newcastle because of the season they’re having,"
The Blues have no new injuries, with all except Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek available.
Lampard's side will temporarily open an eight-point lead against fifth-placed Manchester United if they win on Saturday, as Ole Gunnar's men play away to leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
