The decision was arrived at in consultation with the affected clubs, Supersport and FAZ.
"The Week 18 Super League doubleheader match involving Napsa Stars versus Mufulira Wanderers and Green Buffaloes against Nkana Football Club has been moved from Edwin Imboela Stadium to National Heroes Stadium.
FAZ has been forced to move the matches to National Heroes Stadium following an inspection at Edwin Imboela Stadium that was deemed not fit to host two matches in its flooded state."
The first match involving Napsa Stars and Mufulira Wanderers will be played at 15:00 hours while the Green Buffaloes versus Nkana fixture will kick-off at 18:00 hours.
Zambia switched from a February-to-November schedule to an August–to-May schedule, as per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017.
The decision was met with a lot of resistance from many stakeholders including some sections of the fans who felt the country was not ready for this calendar.
The infrastructure in the country is generally poor and rainfall is at its peak between December and March which is why the previous schedule worked so well for Zambia because it was on recess at that exact time.
Kansanshi Dynamos game against Nakambala Leopards was played over two days due to the fact that the pitch was waterlogged and now this change of venue, This is not even the last time this will happen during the current campaign sadly.
Meanwhile, everything discussed above is just relating to the Super without touching the Women's League and lower-tier Football were the pitches used are even worse.
Europe is not Africa and certain things that are good for Europe may not be good for Africa. It's either Zambia and Africa at large improve their infrastructure as soon as possible or just stick to the February-November calendar for the time being.
