Chelsea's next four Premier League fixtures could make or break their season

Chelsea's indifferent form this season continued on Saturday evening after they suffered a shock 1-0 away defeat to an injury-ravaged Newcastle United.

The Blues controlled the match for long spells but were made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal as the hosts scored in the last minute of added time to claim a vital win.

Lampard's team has been blowing hot and cold for much of the season, and you never know what 'type of Chelsea' will show up in which match.

They face a daunting task in their next four Premier League matches, which can easily make or break their season.

Will Lampard and company survive?

vs Arsenal (Home) - 23/1/20

Chelsea won't have much time to think over their loss away to Newcastle as London rivals will come knocking on Tuesday night.

Lampard came out on top in the reverse fixture a few weeks ago, but Arteta will be keen on avenging the defeat.

It will be an exciting clash to watch, but by virtue of playing at home and being slightly a better side in recent months, Chelsea will be favorites.

vs Leicester (Away) - 01/02/2020

Brandon Rodgers' men seem to have let their foot off the gas in recent matches, winning two and losing three of their last five.

They still are a force and will definitely be a tough side when they host Lampard's men next month. The two sides settled for a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge, in a match they (Leicester) felt should have won.

vs Manchester United (Home) - 17/02/20

Chelsea have already lost twice to Manchester United this season; a 4-0 drubbing on opening day at Old Trafford followed by a 2-1 loss at home in the Carabao Cup quarters.

Lampard will be keen on avoiding a third defeat against one of the top-four challengers, and this promises to be a cracker of a match.

vs Tottenham (Home) - 22/02/20

Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge once again, this time with London rivals Tottenham. Lampard won the first encounter away 2-0 and will be eager to complete the double against his former boss.

Spurs seem to have lost their edge in recent games, something that has been worsened by a number of injuries, particularly to key man Harry Kane, who is expected to be out for months.
