Sensational Zanaco head coach Chris Kaunda is hopeful his team will one day play the football he likes. Kaunda was speaking after he guided his team to a 3-0 win over defending Champions, Zesco United.
Kaunda says he told the players to be more focused and respect Zesco United who he believes is a big team with a big coach.
"From the onset, we told the boys to be more focused and respect Zesco, They are a big team, Big coach, Lwandamina he is my big brother I call him Uncle George. I understand him and if you saw today I was not standing and immediately I saw him standing I knew we were going to control the game, " he said.
"We are learning a lot from the boys and hopefully one day we will play the football I like, passing the ball, players enjoying, They should enjoy it's their job. They tried today and am sure we are getting there, " he added.
Kaunda did not take credit for the win and instead credited the win to the work done by his predecessor Numba Mumamba.
"It's a plus (beating Zesco) for the players, It shows how much disciplined they are and how much work the previous coaches did as we are working within what they did, It's too early for me I can't come and just stamp things am doing slowly, " he said.
Roger Kola scored a brace while Chitiya Mususu chipped in with a goal as Zanaco thrashed Zesco United 3-0 to move to 13th place and make it three wins from their last three games in all competitions.
Next for Zanaco is a rescheduled week 9 encounter at hone against Nakambala Leopards at Sunset Stadium on Wednesday.
