Newcastle United defender Jetro Willems has taken to social media to express his thoughts to the fans after it was confirmed that he will be out for the remainder of the season due to injury.
Willems sustained damage to his knee ligament which has resulted in him being on the sidelines for the rest of the campaign and this comes as a massive blow for the Magpies.
The 25-year-old joined the club on loan last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt and has been one the outstanding players in the squad with his consistent displays.
The Dutchman's interest has brought much concern to the Magpies fans and what it will mean with regards to the club handing him a permanent contract.
He said: “I believe in the plan I made with God, and the path we have chosen. I pledge to do everything I can, so it will not be my last game for NUFC!!!!”
Willems' absence means Matt Ritchie will regain his place in the starting lineup after a fair share of injuries early in the season.
