Following a long-term injury to Luis Suarez, Barcelona boss Quique Setien has admitted that the club are interested in signing a striker in the January transfer window.
Suarez picked up a knee injury in the 3-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Super Copa and underwent a surgery that is likely to keep him out till May.
Barcelona have been linked with a number of forwards with reports in Spain indicating that Lionel Messi urged Setien to sign Sergio Aguero as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also linked with the Catalan club.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of their Copa del Rey clash against Ibiza, Setien admitted that they are looking for a striker, "We are considering that issue but we still have to mature things a little more, it is not an issue that worries me too much.
"I am worried about tomorrow's game and that of Valencia, this is an issue that we will deal with the sports management in-depth and we will see what is most convenient."
Setien does not have a natural center forward in his side currently but could utilize Antoine Griezmann in that role after the Frenchman featured there during his time with Atletico.
