Mauritius replaces South Africa for Futsal AFON 2020

Mauritius has officially replaced South Africa in this year's Futsal Africa Cup of Nations set for Morocco from January 28 to February 7.

The CAF Organising committee made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon following the withdrawal of  South Africa from the pan-African futsal showpiece.

"Having lost to South Africa in the qualifiers, Mauritius was given the approval by the Organising Committee as per the tournament regulations, after the former withdrew," CAF said in a statement on its website.

Mauritius will join host Morocco, Libya and Equatorial Guinea in Pool A while Egypt headline Pool Ba alongside Guinea, Angola and Mozambique.

The top three teams will qualify to represent Africa at the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup slated for September 12 to October 4 in Lithuania.
