Kenya's World Cup qualifiers opponents Mali counts on patriotism to grab Qatar ticket

Mali national team coach Mohamed Magassouba has called on Malians to support The Eagles as they seek the elusive ticket to FIFA World Cup in 2022.

Mali was drawn in Pool E alongside East African legion of Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda in the draw that was conducted on Tuesday in Cairo.

Speaking to a Mali football news website, Footmali, Magassouba believes that this is Mali's best chance to qualify for the global showpiece set for Qatar in late 2022.

"As a coach, I know I have a very aggressive group of players. I know we have very serious opponents in front of us, we will approach each match with respect," he said.

At the same time, he urged his players to embody the Eagle spirit and have a "sacred bond" for them to achieve their objectives.

"The Mali spirit, the Eagle spirit must prevail. If we want to go to the World Cup we must stop the guesswork. Our chances are so great this time."

He invoked patriotic pride as he rallied his troops to seize the opportunity and grab the historic to the 2022 World Cup, their first-ever.

"I'm so proud to coach the Mali Eagles in these qualifies. I have always dreamed of wearing the Malian colours, and now that God has given me this chance, I invite all Malians to help us grab this ticket," he said.
